Two Injured in Castro Valley Accident on Proctor Road

Castro Valley, California (February 7, 2023) – A mother and her son were struck and injured by a vehicle on their way to school in Castro Valley on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on Proctor Road at about 7:50 a.m. February 6.

CHP said the two were walking on the sidewalk when they were struck by an Infiniti QX60 driven by a 38-year-old Castro Valley resident.

The mother, a 38-year-old woman, was rushed to a hospital with major injuries.

Her son, a 7-year-old, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The driver, who was unhurt in the incident, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the incident

The investigation is ongoing.
