Misti Clark Killed in Porterville Crash on Avenue 56

Porterville, California (May 20, 2023) – Misti Clark, 39, has been identified as the driver killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Thursday morning near Porterville, according to the authorities.

The incident took place at about 5:00 a.m. May 18, on Avenue 56, west of Road 168.

The California Highway Patrol said Antonio Barietagonzalez was driving a 2022 Chevrolet eastbound on Avenue 56 when he tried to pass a big rig and collided with an oncoming Honda driven by Clark.

The Chevrolet was pushed into the left side of the big rig.

Due to the impact of the collision, the Chevrolet ended up in a pistachio orchard and was engulfed in flames.

Clark was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Barietagonzalez was able to escape the burning vehicle and was attended to by the responding medics.

Authorities said drugs and/or alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the incident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
