Oceanside, California (December 31, 2022) – Minor injuries were sustained in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon in Oceanside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pileup was reported at around 1:25 p.m. on westbound Highway 78 at El Camino Real.

CHP said four vehicles were involved in the accident.

One of the drivers had to crawl to the passenger side to get out of the car.

Emergency personnel said an unknown number of parties sustained minor injuries. It was unclear if anyone was hospitalized.

Several lanes remained blocked before the scene was cleared.

CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
