Mauricio Mendez Killed in Head-On Collision at Ethanac Road and Matthews Road
Riverside County, California (February 1, 2023) – 28-year-old Mauricio Mendez was killed in a head-on collision that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Menifee.
The fatal crash happened at around 3:18 p.m. in the area of Ethanac and Matthews roads, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Riverside Transit Agency bus and a Ford Mustang driven by Mendez reportedly collided head-on in unclear circumstances.
Mendez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics who arrived at the scene.
Multiple passengers on the RTA bus suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not provided.
