Maura Vicente Critically Hurt in Placentia Car Crash on Orangethorpe Avenue and Melrose Street

Placentia, California (February 4, 2023) – Maura Vicente was hospitalized with major injuries after a deadly collision on January 25 in Placentia, according to a report by the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 8:45 p.m. at Orangethorpe Avenue and Melrose Street.

According to the authorities, Mario Armando Paz J., 24, failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and crashed into a passenger van that was carrying several people.

Vicente was among the passengers in the van. She was taken to a hospital with major injuries and remains in a coma.

3 passengers in the van, including a 10-year-old girl, were killed in the crash.

Other people involved in the collision were treated for minor to major injuries.

Paz was reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck and is facing multiple charges.

The crash is under investigation.
