Sutter County, California (September 23, 2022) – Mariah Lindsey Lopez, 31, of Meridian, was arrested following a suspected DUI collision that left several people, including children, injured on Wednesday night in Sutter County, according to California Highway Patrol.

Eleven people were injured in the wreck that took place on Highway 20 and Humphrey Road just before 8:30 p.m. 

According to the CHP, Lopez was driving a maroon 2008 Honda Pilot northbound on Humphrey Road when she failed to yield to the right of way at the intersection and was hit by a red 2018 Jeep Compass driven westbound on Highway 20 by Jonathan Reyes, 34, of Colusa.

Several parties were trapped in the wreckage and had to be rescued by firefighters.

Authorities said 11 people were injured in the accident and were transported to Adventist Health and Rideout in Marysville, UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, Enloe Medical Center in Chico, and Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael.

One of the patients, a 12-year-old girl, was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with a broken femur.

Lopez was arrested at a hospital on suspicion of DUI causing injury.

Reyes was among the hospitalized parties and had moderate injuries.

Both sides of Highway 20 were shut down for nearly two hours for the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sutter County, California (September 21, 2022) – Several people were injured in a traffic collision that happened just west of Yuba City in Sutter County on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened on Highway 20 and Humphrey Road. 

CHP said two vehicles were involved in the accident, whose cause was under investigation.

At least nine people were injured in the accident. At least two of the injured parties were minors.

Authorities said the patients were being treated for moderate to major injuries.

An infant involved in the collision was unharmed.

Both lanes of the road were shut down due to the incident.

No further details were released.

The CHP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
