Maria Reyes Injured in Fatal Modesto Collision on Highway 132 

Modesto, California (April 13, 2023) – Maria Reyes, 33, of Lodi, was hurt in a fatal crash involving a wrong-way driver early Thursday morning west of Modesto, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The collision happened at around 2:40 a.m. on Highway 132, west of Gates Road.

According to the CHP, a man was driving a Nissan pickup westbound on eastbound Highway 132 when it collided head-on with an oncoming big rig .

The driver of the big rig, Gerardo Reyes, 32, of Lodi, and one of his passengers, Maria Reyes, suffered minor injuries. 

The operator of the Nissan, whose name was not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 3-year old boy riding in Reyes’ rig was unharmed.

The investigation is ongoing.
