Maria Alvarez Among 3 Killed in Patterson Collision on Orange and Elm Avenues

Patterson, California (March 7, 2023) – Maria Cruz Alarez, 56, of Patterson was among three people killed in a crash west of Patterson on Monday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at Orange and Elm avenues on Monday, March 6.

The California Highway Patrol said Mario Estrada, 20, of Crows Landing, was driving a Ram pickup eastbound on Orange Avenue when he failed to yield at the intersection and traveled into the path of a Dodge SUV traveling southbound on Elm Avenue.

The impact of the crash pushed both vehicles off the side of the roadway and both rolled onto their sides.

The occupants of the SUV, Alvarez, Armando Vega, 56, and their son Jesus Vega-Cruz, 26, all of Patterson, were killed in the incident.

Estrada and his passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
