53-Year-Old Scooter Rider Dies After Running Red Light at Adams Avenue and Ranger Lane in Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach, California (May 2, 2023) – A 53-year-old man died after he collided with a car while riding his scooter Sunday night at Adams Avenue and Ranger Lane in Huntington Beach, according to the Huntington Police Department.
The accident occurred at around 8 p.m. between Brookhurst Street and the Santa Ana River.
Police believe the Huntington Beach man, riding a white Royal Alloy Grand Tourer scooter west, ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a silver Mercedes-Benz C300.
First responders found the rider lying in the roadway.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The 30-year-old driver of the car stopped and remained at the crash scene.
Police do not believe he was impaired at the time of the accident.
