A BMW X3 traveling in the southbound lanes struck a bicyclist near the mouth of Sweetwater River
National City, CA.- A bicyclist was killed in a car accident in National City early Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported just before 1 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Mile of Cars Way.
A BMW X3 traveling in the southbound lanes struck a bicyclist near the mouth of Sweetwater River.
The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The man's identity was not immediately released.
The CHP said alcohol and drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
