According to the report, a man was driving a car west on Highway 2 when he drifted into the eastbound side to pass traffic and collided with an oncoming garbage truck

Reardan, WA.- One person was killed in a crash involving a garbage truck near Reardan on Friday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The wreck took place on U.S. Highway 2 at around 10:30 a.m. October 24.
According to the report, a man was driving a car west on Highway 2 when he drifted into the eastbound side to pass traffic and collided with an oncoming garbage truck.
The garbage truck driver slowed and moved to the side to avoid the car but was unsuccessful and the two crashed head-on.
The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second motorist, identified as a 27-year-old, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment.
The WSP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
