Investigators said a car was traveling southbound on Alvarado Street when it collided with another vehicle heading westbound on Eighth Street.
Los Angeles, CA. – A man died, and another was critically injured after they were struck by a vehicle involved in a crash with another car Sunday night at an intersection in Westlake.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident occurred around 11:50 p.m. at Eighth and Alvarado streets.
Investigators said a car was traveling southbound on Alvarado Street when it collided with another vehicle heading westbound on Eighth Street.
The impact of the crash sent the southbound vehicle careening onto the sidewalk on the southwest corner of the intersection and into two men.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the two pedestrians to the hospital.
One of them, a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other man was listed in critical condition.
Details about whether the two drivers were injured were not provided.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
