Grass Valley, CA – One person sustained serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on State Route 49 in Grass Valley late Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 11:59 a.m. on November 24, 2025, on northbound SR-49 just south of Combie Road.
CHP logs show that a USPS vehicle ended up sideways across both lanes, while a blue sedan came to rest on the right-hand shoulder. One person was trapped and unable to exit the vehicle, prompting fire crews to respond for extrication. At least one northbound lane was blocked during rescue operations.
The trapped individual was extricated and suffered major injuries. No arrests were reported.
Traffic was slowed and the roadway was impacted as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
