1 Airlifted after Josephine County Car Accident on Highway 199 near O’Brien

Josephine County, Oregon (March 17, 2023) – One person was severely injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a school bus in Josephine County on Thursday evening.

According to Oregon State Police (OSP) and Illinois Valley Fire District, the accident happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 199, just south of O’Brien.

Multiple vehicles including a pickup truck and a school bus were involved in the accident. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately established.

An occupant of the pickup truck had to be extricated before being airlifted to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Two children on the school bus were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

AMR-Josephine County and ODOT also responded to the scene.
