Lisette Villasenor Killed in Hesperia Accident on Highway 395

Hesperia, California (May 13, 2023) – Lisette Villasenor, 36, of Victorville, was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Thursday evening in Hesperia, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident took place just before 6:31 p.m. May 11, on Highway 395, between Poplar and Main streets.
Authorities said Jose Vargas, 41, of Adelanto, was driving southbound on Highway 395 when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Villasenor.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures on Villasenor.
She was then rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Villasenor’s children, a 6-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Vargas was not injured in the collision and was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
