Lester Legarda Killed in Cañada Road Crash in Redwood City

Redwood City, California (April 21, 2023) – Lester Legarda, 37, of San Francisco, was killed in a bicycle collision in Redwood City on April 10, according to the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.

The crash happened on Cañada Road near Filoli Garden at around 5 p.m.

Legarda was riding a bicycle northbound on Cañada Road when he was struck by a northbound Acura sedan driven by a 22-year-old Redwood City resident .

Authorities said Legarda was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Acura and his passenger were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The collision caused the closure of Cañada Road for nearly four hours as authorities investigated the collision.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
