Lake Elsinore, California (April 20, 2017) – A drunk teen and his passenger were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Elsinore Saturday, according to a police report.

The incident took place at about 7:18 p.m. Saturday, April 15 at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Las Street.

According to a preliminary investigation, Anthony Ray Harris, 19, of Wildomar was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla northbound on Riverside Drive when, for an unknown reason, he crossed over the southbound lane and slammed into a traffic pole and then struck a 2003 Ford pickup truck.

Harris sustained multiple leg injuries while his passenger sustained internal injuries.  The two were taken to a hospital where they were admitted due to the severity of the injuries.

The occupants of the truck were not injured in the accident.

Deputies determined that Harris was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation.
