Kimberli Washington Among 2 Killed in Citrus Heights Crash on Auburn Boulevard
Citrus Heights, California (January 24, 2023) – Kimberli Michele Washington, 41, of Sacramento, was killed in an auto-pedestrian collision on Sunday evening in Citrus Heights, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The wreck took place in the area of Auburn Boulevard and Cobalt Way at about 7:45 p.m. January 22.
Citrus Heights police said Washington was reportedly crossing Auburn Boulevard when a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck her.
The vehicle then swerved and collided head-on with another vehicle.
The impact caused the second vehicle to strike a brick barrier.
Authorities said Washington was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The other driver was hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
Auburn Boulevard was shut down between Cobalt and San Tomas Drive as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
