Westminster, California (February 9, 2023) – Kim Tuyen Thi Vu, 79, of Westminster, was one of three people killed in a collision with a wrong-way driver in Westminster on Monday afternoon, according to the Westminster Police Department.

The crash happened in the 14500 block of Beach Boulevard near Hazard Avenue just before 12:51 p.m. 

Police said a minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed north on southbound Beach Boulevard when it crashed into three other vehicles.

The operator of the minivan died at the scene.

A passenger in the minivan was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Another driver was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center with a leg injury and was pronounced dead on Wednesday.

Thi vu was among the three people who died following the collision.

Police identified the other parties as Victoria McKemy, 75, of Buena Park, and Tri Dinh Tran, 84, of Westminster.

Both sides of Beach Boulevard were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
