Kianna Hughes Hurt in Fatal Watsonville Accident on Holohan Road

Watsonville, California (March 5, 2023) – Kianna Hughes, 25, of Moreno Valley, was seriously hurt in a fatal collision in Watsonville on Saturday night, according to the CHP.

The collision occurred in the area of Holohan Road at around 10:22 p.m. March 4.

According to investigators, Angelica Varon, 38, of Watsonville, was driving a 2007 Volvo XC90 south on Holohan Road when she went across the yellow lines and struck a northbound 2015 Hyundai Elantra driven by Breanna Romero, 26.

Authorities said Romero was killed in the incident.

Hughes was a passenger in the Hyundai and was taken to Natividad Hospital with major injuries.

Authorities arrested Varon for DUI and she was taken to Natividad Hospital with major injuries.

 A passenger in the Volvo, identified as Jesus Rocha Ayala, 25, of Watsonville, drove to Watsonville Community Hospital with major injuries.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
