Karime Duarte Dies in Bakersfield Collision on McKee Road and Highway 99 

Bakersfield, California (March 18, 2023) – Karime Duarte, 21, was among two sisters killed in a collision in Bakersfield earlier this month, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at around 3:00 a.m. March 3, on McKee Road and Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda passenger car was traveling on McKee Road when it failed to stop at a dead-end and collided with a Dodge truck traveling south on Highway 99.

The Honda caught fire following the collision.

Two occupants of the Honda, Karime Duarte and her sister Jennifer Duarte, 15, were both killed in the crash. A dog in the Honda also died.

Their other sister Diana Ponce, 23, was also in the Honda and was hospitalized with severe injuries. 

The parties in the Dodge were hospitalized with serious injuries.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
