Jose Hernandez Among 2 Killed in Los Angeles Train Accident on E 24th Street
Los Angeles, California (February 22, 2023) – 40-year-old Jose Maradiaga Hernandez was one of two people killed in a collision with a train on Monday evening in the Central-Alameda neighborhood, according to the authorities.
The wreck occurred at about 6:16 p.m. February 20, on E 24th Street, south of the 10 Freeway.
According to the report, a car and a Metro A (Blue) line train were traveling south when the car made a turn in front of the train and the two collided.
Hernandez was among the five occupants of the car.
Authorities said Hernandez and one of the other occupants were extricated and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized with minor-to-moderate injuries.
The people aboard the train were not injured but the operator of the train was evaluated as a precaution.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
