John Blackwell Jr Killed in Long Beach Collision on Long Beach Boulevard 

Long Beach, California (January 30, 2023) – John Blackwell Jr., 57, of Long Beach, was killed in a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle Friday evening in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

The wreck took place on Long Beach Boulevard near Ellis Street at about 7 p.m. January 28.

Long Beach police said a Long Beach man was operating a 2014 GMC southbound on Long Beach Boulevard when he attempted to to turn left into a parking lot and was hit by a speeding 2014 Kawasaki driven by Blackwell.

According to the report, Blackwell was ejected from the motorcycle. He died of his injuries at the scene.

The Long Beach Police Department is conducting an investigation into the collision.
