Jesus Lopez Killed in Sun Valley Train Accident on Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Raymer Street
Sun Valley, California (May 19, 2023) – The man who was killed in a collision between a Metrolink train and a vehicle in Sun Valley on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Jesus Acosta Lopez, 57, of Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The wreck took place in the area near Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Raymer Street at about 3:20 p.m. May 16.
Authorities said Lopez was in a vehicle that was hit by a train traveling to Moorpark from downtown Los Angeles.
Lopez was trapped in the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported n the incident.
The tracks were closed as authorities investigated the incident.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
