Jazmin Cano Killed in Bay Terraces Crash on Paradise Valley Road

Bay Terraces, California (May 17, 2023) – Jazmin Higuera Cano was among two people killed in a traffic collision in the Bay Terraces early Sunday morning, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened at about 2:30 a.m. on May 14, at the 6100 block of Paradise Valley Road.

According to the authorities, a Honda Civic was attempting to make a left turn onto Munda Road when it was hit on its side by a 2003 Ford F150 that was traveling on Paradise Valley Road.

The occupants of the Honda, identified as Jazmin Higuera Cano and Elizabeth Higuera Cano, 25, were both killed in the collision.

The operator of the Ford fled the scene on foot but later turned himself in.

The driver, identified as 53-year-old Tony Garcia, of San Diego, was arrested and booked into the San Diego County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
