Jay Suitter Hurt in Salkum Crash on U.S. Highway 12

Salkum, WA.- Jay R. Suitter, 69, of Ethel, was injured in a collision that took place near Salkum on Sunday afternoon, according to a report by the Washington State Patrol.

The incident happened on U.S. at around 10:45 a.m. on May 11.

According to WSP, Suitter was driving a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria eastbound on the highway when he slowed down to turn left and was hit from behind by a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Delila M. Westmoreland, 35, of Mossyrock.

Suitter was airlifted to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The WSP believe following too closely played a role in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
