Jared Martineau Killed in Car Accident on 8 Freeway near Lake Jennings Park Rd in San Diego

San Diego, California (May 18, 2023) – 29-year-old Jared Martineau, of Lakeside, has been identified as the man who was killed in a car crash that happened early this month in the Flinn Springs area of San Diego.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 5 p.m. on May 2, on Interstate 8 Freeway near Lake Jennings Park Road.

Martineau was driving a Ford pickup truck eastbound on the freeway when he collided with another car.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck to overturn and roll side-over-side several times.

Martineau was ejected from the pickup truck and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he died last week Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
