Jamie Perez Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Alta Vista Drive 

Bakersfield, California (February 24, 2023) – Jamie Anthony Perez, 15, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the teen who was killed in a crash with an alleged DUI driver in Bakersfield on February 4, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

The collision occurred on Alta Vista Drive and Irene Street.

Perez was a passenger in a stolen Kia Optima that was hit by a Toyota Tundra in the area.

Authorities said Perez died at the scene of the accident.

According to the report, the driver of the Kia, Timothy Javier Leal, was arrested on DUI charges following the accident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
