At Least 1 Airlifted after Head-On Crash on Highway 41 at Road 406 near O’Neals

Madera County, California (May 16, 2022) – At least one person was airlifted to the hospital after a Monday afternoon head-on collision in Madera County, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Highway 41 car crash occurred at around 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of Road 406 near O’Neals.

CHP reported that a white pickup truck and a white sedan collided head-on for unknown reasons.

At least one person was seriously injured in the collision. Skylife was requested to land at Highway 41 and Road 406 and airlift the victim to the hospital.

Caltrans closed the highway in both directions to allow the helicopter to land. Northbound traffic was diverted at Road 208 and southbound traffic at Road 200.

CHP is investigating the collision.
