Heather Woolard Killed in Redlands Train Crash on Alabama Street

Redlands, California (April 11, 2023) – Heather Lynn Woolard, 47, of Redlands, died following a collision with a train in Redlands Tuesday night, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at the Alabama Street crossing at about 8:30 p.m. April 4. 

A Metrolink passenger train was reportedly traveling westbound on the Metrolink’s Arrow Route when it collided with a northbound silver sedan that was on the tracks when the crossing gates came down.

Woolard’s daughter, Presley Chiakowsky, 13, was a passenger in the car and was ejected when the collision occurred.

Presley died at the scene while Woolard was pronounced dead a day later at a hospital.

A passenger on the train was also taken to a hospital.

The collision remained under investigation.
