A tractor-trailer reportedly hit Ortiz and another man as the two were riding on a Lime e-scooter

Portland, OR.- The pedestrian who was killed in an accident that occurred in Portland on Sunday morning has been identified as Gerardo Ortiz Henriquez, 24, of Portland, according to the Portland police.
The accident happened on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Northeast Holladay Street at around 2:45 a.m. August 17.
A tractor-trailer reportedly hit Ortiz and another man as the two were riding on a Lime e-scooter.
Ortiz, who was a passenger on the scooter, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other rider was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
Authorities reported that impairment was suspected and both riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
The big rig left the area after the accident and was followed by a witness, who contacted the authorities.
The big rig driver was pulled over on Oregon 224 near Clackamas and authorities said the driver may not have been aware of the accident.
The Portland police working to determine the cause of the collision.
