Tucson, AZ – The Arizona Department of Public Safety has identified two men killed in a head-on collision on 10 Freeway in Tucson last week Friday as 65-year-old Mark Albert Irby and George Melen Roat, 63.
The collision was reported on Interstate 10 near Wilmot Road in Tucson on March 21.
Irby was driving an SUV in the westbound lanes when he lost control, went into the oncoming lanes, and collided head-on with an eastbound pick-up truck operated by Roat.
Irby and Roat, both Tucson residents, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Impaired driving was ruled out as a factor in the mishap.
More information about the incident was not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
