5 Hurt in Bakersfield Crash at East Truxtun Avenue at Beale Avenue

Bakersfield, California (May 16, 2023) – Several people were injured in a collision involving a driver operating a stolen vehicle in Bakersfield on Saturday morning, according to the authorities.

The incident took place at about 11 a.m. May 13, on East Truxtun Avenue at Beale Avenue.

Authorities said William Duncan, 30, of Corning, was driving an allegedly stolen vehicle when he ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.

A woman and four children were riding in the second vehicle.

The woman and one of the children suffered moderate injuries while the other three had minor injuries.

All occupants of both vehicles were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Duncan was later booked into the Kern County Jail on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property, narcotics-related charges, and reckless driving.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the incident.
