85-Year-Old Woman Killed, Another Hospitalized after Lake Murray Crash on Mission Gorge Road near Cottonwood Avenue

Lake Murray, California (November 20, 2022) – An 85-year-old woman was killed in a Friday evening head-on collision that injured another in Lake Murray, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 5:20 p.m., on November 18, on Mission Gorge Road near Cottonwood Avenue.

According to the police, the elderly woman was headed westbound in eastbound lanes in a 2018 Toyota Corolla when she collided head-on with a 2021 Toyota Venza operated by a 70-year-old driver.

The Venza was reportedly traveling westbound at the time.

Sadly, the elderly sustained fatal injuries in the accident. The woman was not suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident occurred.

The 70-year-old driver was hospitalized after complaining of chest, neck, and back pain.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
