Woman Killed, Several Hospitalized after Gila Bend Crash on Highway 85 near Gila Bend

Gila Bend, Arizona (April 11, 2023) – Police are investigating a fatal head-on collision that took place Saturday night on Highway 85 in Gila Bend.

At around 11:30 p.m. on April 8, Maricopa County Sheriff’s responded to the crash on State Route 85 near milepost 123, just north of Gila Bend.

Two vehicles collided head-on in the area. However, reports did not state how the crash occurred.

First responders declared the woman dead at the scene. Several others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown if the woman was driving one of the cars involved in the accident.

The name of the deceased was not disclosed.

Authorities are investigating to determine the events surrounding the crash.
