1 Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash on Highway 65 near Famoso Road
The fatal crash happened on Highway 65 near Famoso Road at around 3:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
52-year-old William Pederson of Porterville was driving a 2022 Ram northbound on Highway 65 when he allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a southbound Toyota
A 53-year-old Bakersfield woman driving the Toyota was killed in the accident.
A passenger in the Toyota sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Kern Medical.
Pederson suffered major injuries in the accident. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
