Elizabeth Roberts ID’d as Woman Injured in Menifee Crash on Interstate 215 near Scott Road Off-Ramp
Menifee, California (January 13, 2021) – Elizabeth Robert, 55, of Lake Elsinore, has been identified as the woman who was injured on New Year’s Eve in a traffic accident involving a wrong-way motorist in Menifee.
The crash occurred at about 2:40 a.m. Thursday, December 31, on Interstate 215 near Scott Road exit.
The incident began when Hemet police were chasing a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was reported stolen from Ridgecrest.
The chase came to an end when the driver of the pickup truck drove southbound in the northbound lane of Interstate 215.
Moments later, the pickup truck collided head-on with an oncoming LabCorp van
Robert, who was in the LabCorp van, was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters. She was then transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with major injuries.
The wrong-way driver fled the scene on foot.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
