Elisa Martinez Killed in National City Accident at National City Boulevard and East 1st Street

National City, California (February 16, 2023) –  Elisa Martinez, 93, of National City, was killed in a two-vehicle collision in National City last week on Thursday, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly wreck was reported at around 11:36 a.m. February 9, on National City Boulevard and East 1st Street.

Authorities said a transport van and a Nissan sedan collided in the area and the van slammed into a light standard at the intersection.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated a passenger trapped in the van.

The victim, later identified as Martinez, was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving measures.

The cause of the deadly National City collision is under investigation.
