Dylan Motte Survey Worker Killed in Morongo Valley Crash on Highway 62 near Senilis Avenue
Morongo Valley, California (May 13, 2022) – The survey worker who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Morongo Valley on Monday afternoon has been identified as Dylan Motte, 25, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Motte was standing near a work truck in the center median on State Route 62, just east of Senilis Avenue, at about 2:10 p.m. on May 9.
According to the CHP, a Ford F150 traveling west in the No. 1 lane drifted into the center median and collided with Motte and his truck.
The impact sent the work truck into the No. 2 eastbound lane, and it collided with a Toyota Rav4.

Motte was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Ford, Ricardo Garcia, and his 18-year-old passenger were both taken to DRMC with moderate injuries. The passenger was reportedly not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the crash, CHP said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
