The incident took place on Lincoln Avenue, east of Hill Avenue, on Thursday, October 16.
A driver reported that they drifted off roadway to avoid an animal that jumped abruptly into their path.
The vehicle crashed into a canal bridge and the guardrail pierced into the driver's compartment.
The driver was transported with major injuries.
