Man Ejected in Rollover Collision on Interstate 15 near Oak Hills Road in Hesperia

Hesperia, California (March 17, 2023) – A man was hospitalized with critical injuries after being ejected from his car that collided with a semi-truck Wednesday night in Hesperia.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on the southbound Interstate 15, just south of Oak Hill Road.

CHP officers said a man was driving a gray Nissan when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into the trailer of a semi-truck on the right shoulder.

The car overturned onto its roof in the No. 1 lane and caught fire.

The driver was ejected during the crash, sustaining critical injuries.

A Good Samaritan in a silver Chrysler 300 stopped at the scene before emergency personnel arrived and put the driver in his car, and drove off.

A CHP officer responding to the collision met them at the 76 gas station near Mariposa Road and Ranchero Road.

San Bernardino County Fire Department responded and requested an air ambulance to transport the man to a trauma center. The helicopter was later canceled, and the man was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
