At Least 1 Killed in Crescent City Car Collision on Highway 101 near Highway 199

Crescent City, California (February 23, 2023) – At least one person died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday afternoon in Crescent City, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck took place at around 4:50 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 near Highway 199.

According to CHP, a blue Chevrolet truck and a Toyota 4Runner were involved in the accident.

Parties got trapped in both vehicles after the collision, and smoke was coming from one of the cars.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident.

According to the report, at least one person died in the accident.

Northbound Highway 101 at Elk Valley Cross Road was closed for an unknown period as authorities investigated.
