David Weaverling Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 20 in Lincoln County

Lincoln County, Oregon (April 18, 2023) – A 70-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision on Monday morning in Lincoln County.

Oregon State Police say the accident happened on Highway 20 near milepost 3 at around 9:59 a.m. on April 17.

David Eugene Beal Weaverling, 70, of Waldport, was driving a white Toyota RAV4 eastbound on Highway 20 when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a gray Toyota Tacoma driven by Summer Rose Lovell, 29, of Wilsonville.

Weaverling was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Lovell suffered major injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Additional information about the accident was not provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
