David Hart Hurt in Fatal Castroville Collision on Highway 1

Castroville, California (May 24, 2023) – David Randall Hart, 69, of Castroville, was injured in a fatal collision on Tuesday afternoon in Castroville, according to the authorities.

The wreck took place on Highway 1 near Highway 183 at around 12:40 p.m. May 23.

According to the report, a GMC Sierra was traveling northbound on the highway when it drifted across the double yellow lines and collided with an oncoming Mazda.

Hart was driving the GMC and suffered major injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 79-year-old Soquel woman, and one of her passengers, a 75-year-old Tennessee man, were both killed in the crash.

A second passenger in the Mazda, a 73-year-old Tennessee woman, was transported with major injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is working to determine the cause of the wreck.
