<strong>Coroner Identifies Eda Rojas Joachin as Woman Killed in Bakersfield 2 Vehicle Accident on Highway 43 near Munzer Road<strong>

Bakersfield, California (August 17, 2021) – The 48-year-old Shafter woman who died following a two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield last week Tuesday morning has been identified as Eda Yadira Rojas-Joachin.

The deadly car crash took place on Highway 43, south of Munzer Road, just after 5:00 a.m. on August 10.

The accident involved a 2010 Chevrolet driven by 41-year-old Juvencio Palma northbound on Highway 43 and a 2004 Chevrolet operated by Maria Mondragon southbound on the roadway.

For unknown reasons, Juvencio Palma swerved into the southbound lane forcing the 2004 Chevrolet to swerve to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision.

The 2010 Chevy reportedly veered back into its original lane and collided head-on with the Mondragon’s vehicle.

Highway 43 Collision Kills Eda Rojas-Joachin

Rojas-Joachin, who was a passenger in the 2004 Chevy, died in the accident.

As per the California Highway Patrol report, Maria Mondragon sustained minor injuries and was rushed to Kern Medical for medication.

Additionally, Palma survived with minor hurts and sought his own medical aid.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
