Claudia Bell and Monelle Lumapas Killed in Collision with Logging Truck on Highway 30 in Clatsop County
Clatsop County, Oregon (April 19, 2023) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon near Astoria in Clatsop County.
According to Oregon State Police, the accident happened on Highway 30 near milepost 76 at around 1:15 p.m.
Claudia Bell, 22, of Oregon City, was driving a Kia Rio sedan westbound on the highway when she collided with an eastbound Kenworth logging truck.
Bell and her passenger, Monelle Lumapas, 19, of Portland, were killed in the accident.
The logging truck driver, Dominic Rizzo, 22, of Astoria, was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
