An SUV and a semi-truck were involved in the collision, leaving multiple lanes closed.
City of Industry, CA. – One person was killed Tuesday afternoon after a gray Nissan SUV collided with a semi-truck on the northbound 605 Freeway at the transition to the eastbound 60 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported just before 4:30 p.m.
Authorities said one person died from injuries sustained in the collision. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The impact left the SUV heavily damaged, and the transition road blocked. A light pole was sheared off in the collision and came down across the No. 2 and 3 lanes, forcing a traffic shutdown.
Only the HOV and No. 1 lanes remained open as crews worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
