<strong>CHP Investigating Major Injury Crash on Byron Highway in Byron<strong>

Byron, California (December 18, 2022) – At least one person suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle collision that happened Sunday afternoon near Byron Airport in Byron.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 3:11 p.m. on northbound Byron Highway, just north of Clifton Court Road.

Two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. A PG&E pole and an AT&T pole were destroyed in the accident.

At least one person sustained major injuries in the accident. Emergency personnel requested an air ambulance to respond to transport the patient to the hospital. The helicopter was later disregarded due to foggy weather in the area. The patient was transported by ground ambulance in unknown condition.

PG&E and AT&T officials also responded to the scene to access the damaged poles.

Both vehicles were towed away for evidence.

CHP is investigating the crash.
