Chamise Hurd ID’d as 1 of 3 Injured in Red Bluff Car Crash on Interstate 5 near Riverside Avenue
Red Bluff, California (July 1, 2020) – Authorities have identified Chamise Mae Hurd, 39, of San Diego, as one of the three victims who were injured in a two-car crash on Tuesday morning in Red Bluff.
The crash occurred at around 6:30 a.m., June 30, on Interstate 5, just south of Riverside Avenue.
A 2020 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Neil Moosaie, 32, of Brooklyn Park, was headed southbound on the roadway when it rear-ended a 2005 Mazda 3, the CHP said.
The Mazda reportedly spun towards the center divider and struck a divider guardrail and then crashed into a concrete bridge wall, sheering off the front half of the car, following the collision.
At the same time, the Malibu went into the center divider guardrail and then back across the freeway where it crashed into a concrete wall.
Chamise Hurd Injured Traffic Collision on I-5 in Red Bluff
Hurd, who was a passenger in the Mazda, had one of her legs severed. She was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment. Hurd was a passenger in the Mazda.
The Mazda driver, Daniel Brace Junior, 35, of San Diego, was taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital with lacerations to his legs.
Moosaie suffered lacerations to his head and was taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment. Moosaie was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Moosaie’s passenger Patrick Napoleon, 33, of Minneapolis, was not injured in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
