Mendocino, California (June 28, 2022) – A 36-year-old Burbank man was killed in a head-on collision that occurred in the Redwood Valley area north of Ukiah, on Monday evening.

The fatal accident happened at around 6:26 p.m. on Highway 101 near the West Road exit, according to the California Highway.

The Burbank man was driving a Toyota Prius northbound on the roadway when he drifted into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Burbank man was killed in the collision.

The woman driving the Jeep suffered major injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A passenger in the Jeep was not injured.

Authorities said a 19-year-old Oakland man was driving a Nissan 350Z eastbound on International Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he collided with a vehicle that was making a turn from 54th Avenue onto International Boulevard.

The Nissan also collided with multiple parked vehicles, including motorcycles and SUVs.

One of the SUVs was sent into a group of people that were standing on the sidewalk near the intersection.

The Nissan came to a stop in the westbound lanes of International Boulevard, several feet from the site of the initial collision.

Lolomanaia Soakai Killed in Oakland Pedestrian Accident Collision

Soakai was one of the pedestrians hit by the SUV and died in the crash.

Three other parties were hospitalized in stable condition.

The operator of the Nissan had to be extricated from his vehicle. He had reportedly left a sideshow approximately one mile from the scene of the collision and was traveling in a lane designated for buses only.

The Nissan driver was arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for vehicular manslaughter, among other charges.

At about 1:51 a.m., the 19-year-old Oakland man was reportedly speeding in a Nissan 350Z eastbound in the 5400 block of International Boulevard when he collided with a vehicle making a turn from 54th Avenue onto International Boulevard.

The Nissan then collided with multiple parked vehicles that included SUVs and motorcycles.
